This Game Day Guac Recipe Is, In a Word, Superb

For legal reasons, we’re not allowed to say the name of the professional football championship game taking place this Sunday. But we can tell you that a great way to enjoy the action is by making yourself some infused guacamole, and putting it in, say, a super bowl.

Much like an offensive lineman, avocados can be described as a “healthy fat.” Its benefits are wide-ranging, from helping lower cholesterol to promoting better sleep to improving bone and joint health (thanks Vitamin K!). Smash up an avo and add some tomatoes, peppers and onions, and you’ve got a classic game day snack you’d pay upwards of $1.25 extra to enjoy at a restaurant.

Chef Teresa Hansen’s Game Day Guac is perfect for those who are more into the football-adjacent elements of the show. We’d say if you start dipping your chips around the coin toss, you’ll start feeling the calming effects of Good Things Coming Mango Chile Fruit Jellies around the first commercial break, which will make those nonsensical celebrity cameos and talking animals all the more enjoyable.

Enjoy the recipe and enjoy the game (or the halftime show).
